Title: Python QA Automation Developer/Tester
Type: 6-Month Contract + Opportunity to Extend
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Model: Mon-Thurs Onsite (4 days/week), 37.5 hours/week
Start Date: ASAP
Interview Process: 2 rounds - 1 virtual technical IV/ 1 in person with team lead
Compensation: $80-90/hour
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
The successful Automation Developer will be responsible for automation testing for back-end applications that support trading and post-trade activities across asset classes including equities, fixed income, derivatives, OTC, and FX.
Daily, they will be performing 70% back-end automation testing and 30% will be functional responsibilities that require the candidate to have a strong understanding of Capital Markets Lifecycle knowledge.
The frame has been built, and the candidate will focused on enhancing automation and adding test cases
Must haves:
5 years of experience as an Automation Developer (Mindset of an SDET)
3 years of Capital markets experience with a strong understanding of Front, Middle, and back office trading lifecycle
Previous experience of automation testing on back-end applications
5 years’ experience with Python
5 years’ of experience Pytest Framework. Previous experience developing test cases and enhancing automation in an Python/ Py Test Environment
SQL experience
Data Validation experience
Strong understanding of Data Validation Testing, looking at back-end outputs and inputs
Strong understanding of Cloud concepts and Storage, preferably with AWS
CI/CD Experience: Strong grasp of CI/CD concepts, ecosystem, and best practices.
Tools: Proficient with GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins. While the team currently uses GitHub Actions, experience with Jenkins or similar tools is equally acceptable.
Pipeline Automation: Capable of building event-driven automation pipelines triggered by actions such as code commits, pull requests, or merges.
Strong understanding to Testing Lifecycle: Automation, Regression. Smoke, and UAT testing
Self-driven and can wear multiple hats
Nice to have:
Experience with Gherkin
Previous experience as an SDET
