This permanent position is a full-time continuing contract with 1.0 continuing FTE. Teaching two semesters of Level 1 Construction Electrician at Dr. Charles Best Secondary. The teacher works with Camosun University to provide a LVL 1 foundations Construction Electrician Program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Successful applicants will possess the appropriate education, training and or experience:

  • Bachelor of Education degree

  • A Construction Electrician or Industrial Electrician BC Certificate of Qualification preferably with Red Seal Endorsement or

  • A Construction Electrician or Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification from another Canadian jurisdiction with Red Seal Endorsement only

  • Preference given to candidates eligible for certification with the British Columbia Teacher Regulation Branch

  • Preference Given to candidates with Technology Teacher Education Training

Candidates should have:

  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team
  • High level of interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to deliver instructional content as per curriculum, meeting learning objectives
  • Ability to foster interaction among students
  • Ability to provide students with resources and support
  • Ability to coordinate with a team of teachers to plan instruction
  • Comfort working with post-secondary partner groups to provide curriculum
  • Familiarity with STBC and the BC Red Seal Process
