ECCU 200 – Introduction to Cross-Cultural Education
An examination of concepts common to cross-cultural education and cross-cultural interaction. Implications for schooling, cultural and economic factors, and current issues and trends in the education of racial and cultural minorities.

YUKON CONTEXT
This course is intended to familiarize learners with education issues and initiatives related to Yukon First Nations education past to present, with a view to the future. This course will critically analyze the history, development and transformation of Indigenous education, and in turn creating a fruitful learning environment supportive of anti-oppressive and decolonized education.

Position Requirements

This course is part of the University of Regina’s Faculty of Education Bachelor of Education YNTEP Program offered in Whitehorse, YT.

Normally it is preferred that applicants will have a Master of Education degree appropriate to the area of instruction. Applicants should also have experience in the education system appropriate to the content of the course applied for, knowledge of, and experience with the Saskatchewan curriculum, knowledge and experience with Faculty of Education programs, and current knowledge of issues related to the course for which the applicant has applied. University teaching experience is an asset. Preference may be given to local candidates.
