Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Remote Senior ServiceNow Developer for a contract opportunity with one of our Federal Government clients in Canada.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to support the design, configuration, development, and implementation of a secure and scalable ServiceNow solution. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical expertise focused on ServiceNow Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) and application development, translating business and functional requirements into effective technical solutions.
This role will focus on developing workflows, integrations, automations, and platform configurations while ensuring alignment with ServiceNow best practices, enterprise standards, security requirements, and long-term platform sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Configure the ServiceNow HRSD module and/or App Engine solutions to support onboarding processes using approved configurations and platform capabilities. Develop and maintain workflows, Flow Designer flows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, catalog items, forms, tables, and service catalog components. Build and support integrations using ServiceNow IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and other approved integration methods. Develop server-side and client-side scripts following ServiceNow development standards and secure coding practices. Configure data security controls, including roles, ACLs, and data separation rules, to support compliance requirements. Participate in requirements clarification sessions to ensure accurate understanding and implementation of business requirements. Perform unit testing and support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), troubleshooting, and defect resolution. Support deployment activities including update set management, version control practices, and promotion across environments. Monitor and troubleshoot application performance issues, resolve defects, and optimize configurations. Maintain technical documentation related to ServiceNow configurations, scripts, integrations, and deployment procedures. Promote reuse of existing ServiceNow components, modules, and shared services to reduce technical debt. Collaborate with architects, QA teams, operations teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery and platform stability.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience providing senior-level ServiceNow development expertise. Extensive hands-on experience designing, developing, configuring, and implementing ServiceNow solutions. Strong experience with ServiceNow Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) and/or App Engine. Experience developing workflows, Flow Designer flows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and service catalog components. Strong knowledge of ServiceNow scripting, including server-side and client-side development. Experience building integrations using ServiceNow IntegrationHub, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, or similar technologies. Experience configuring ServiceNow security controls, including roles, ACLs, and data access rules. Experience performing testing, troubleshooting, deployment support, and production issue resolution. Strong understanding of ServiceNow development standards, best practices, and platform optimization. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing ServiceNow HRSD solutions within large enterprise or public sector environments. Experience supporting employee onboarding, HR workflow automation, or digital transformation initiatives. ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), or other relevant certifications. Experience working within enterprise architecture, governance, and compliance frameworks.
Compensation
Salary Range: $90.00 -$110.00 / Hour
