Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Technician ( 12 Months Contract)!

Work arrangement:  Onsite (Tuesday - Friday; 12pm - 8pm and Saturday; 10am - 6pm)

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $60100 - $79627.2 Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. 

Reporting to the Assistant Manager and working as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will work closely with multiple S&C departments in supporting production processes to ensure deadlines are met and production lines are running smoothly. The role will focus on programming machine shop equipment, supporting day-to-day operations, and assisting with capital project work.  The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically skilled and comfortable working closely with production teams to optimize processes & equipment performance.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Develop, modify and optimize programs for CNC machining operations.
  • Daily shop floor support, troubleshoot manufacturing issues to reduce downtime.
  • Support CapEx projects including equipment selection, installation, commissioning and validation. 
  • Assist with layout planning and preparation of work instructions.
  • Conduct process studies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Tool design, machining fixtures, welding fixtures, forming fixtures.
  • Engineering change orders and fabrication part routings.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing, or a similar field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in machining and Mazatrol programming.
  • Experience with tool design, CAD, and CNC programming.
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with fabrication and assembly equipment and processes.
  • Experience supporting CapEx Projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A good eye for detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships   

Physical Effort:

Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.

Work Environment:

Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
