We are currently accepting applications for a Financial Grants & Contracts Administrator to join our Owerko Family Centre for Clinical Trials team at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.

The Financial Grants & Contracts Administrator performs a wide variety of accounting duties covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, study accounts reconciliation and analysis, trial contracts administration, as well as assisting with other financial and administrative duties. Under the direct supervision of the Finance Lead, this position works closely with other Administrators and serves as the primary liaison between investigators, study teams, sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), finance departments, and institutional stakeholders to ensure clinical trial finances, contracts, invoicing, payments, and financial reporting are managed accurately and efficiently. This position will oversee the complete financial lifecycle of clinical trials from study start-up through study close-out while ensuring compliance with institutional policies, trial agreements, applicable regulations, and funding requirements. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional who understands both the operational and financial aspects of clinical research. This full-time position is for approximately 12 months with the possibility of extension subject to the length of grant funding.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, health administration, or commerce. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in financial management, ideally in a research or academic healthcare environment. Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Applicants may be tested for appropriate skills and knowledge.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience performing and learning complex administrative tasks and operating systems under minimal supervision. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Ability to manage finances in a changing and multifaceted environment with diverse and complex issues. Effective communicator with superior organizational skills and attention to detail and an ability to work within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those with previous experience in a research, healthcare or academic environment. Experience in research administration or clinical trials operations as well as working knowledge of AHS financial processes is an asset.
