The UCDSB is currently hiring for Continuing Education; eLearning Program Teachers for the Summer Semester.

POSITION: eLearning Program Teachers - Summer Semester

FTE: 1.0 for the duration of the term

LOCATION: Virtual

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: up to 3 positions depending on student enrolment

  • TERM for all 3 of the positions: June 29, 2026 - August 7, 2026 (total of 110 hours)

Please note that there will be a mandatory training session on; date to be determined. Session will take place virtually.

Salary – article 24.06 con ed rate under provision of Bill 124

Travel may be required

Placement of the successful candidates to the three different terms available will be at the sole discretion of the hiring Manager.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal of Summer Semester, the incumbent will work to implement UCDSB initiatives. They will be the e-learning and blended learning contact within the Board's elementary and secondary panels and be a liaison with the Ministry of Education's e-Learning Ontario (eLO) team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • To work with the Summer Semester team through Collaborative Inquiry to support and facilitate professional development at the school level
  • To work with the Principal of Summer Semester and provide leadership and coordination with an emphasis on blended learning but including; E-learning and Ministry-provided digital resources, including Ontario Software Acquisition Program Advisory Committee (OSAPAC) resources.
  • To help lead and coordinate these four areas including:
  • Evaluating the board's current programs.
  • Developing a plan for the future in the board
  • Aligning the board's implementation plan for e-learning with board initiatives, board and school improvement plans, and eLearning Ontario
  • To facilitate and support Summer Semester addressing improving student learning and achievement
  • To liaise with all stakeholders with frequent communication, both electronically and face-to-face.
  • To ensure that all required Ministry reports are completed

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Ontario curriculum
  • Knowledge of Collaborative Inquiry
  • Awareness of UCDSB policy on assessment, evaluation, and reporting
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and time management skills
  • Effective interpersonal and team building skills
  • Experience in integrating technology and instructional strategies such as blended learning
  • Professional demonstration of Standards of Practice and Ethical Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications:

  • An Ontario Teachers Certificate of Qualification
  • Member of the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Qualifications in Intermediate/Senior
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience with e-learning preferred

If your experience is in a day-to-day occasional capacity ensure that you list the length of time that you worked for that Supervisor and whether the assignment was casual day-to-day or in a long-term occasional capacity.

Placement Teacher References: If providing a Placement Teacher as a reference, The UCDSB will require confirmation and approval from the Principal at the Placement School that the deferred reference (Placement Teacher) is approved to provide reference on behalf of the Principal.

Positions are filled in accordance with the OSSTF Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement and/or PPM 165 where applicable.
