Reporting to the Corporate Projects and Architecture Manager, the Business Architect works closely with internal business and IT stakeholders to develop an integrated view of the enterprise, using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques. The Business Architect aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services, partners and suppliers, organization, capabilities, and key business and IT initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered. Five (5) to eight (8) years of business and/or IT experience with emphasis on strategy formulation, business performance/analytics, and program management. Experience translating business ideas into automated solutions. Experience gathering, analyzing, and recommending improvements to the strategic, core, and support processes of the business to support strategic and operational goals. Experience acting as a liaison to convey information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business. Experience using model-based representations to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business. Experience with project management methodologies. Experience preparing and delivering presentations to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience gathering, documenting and managing business requirements through stakeholder engagement and facilitation. Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including user stories, backlog refinement, and acceptance criteria. Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensuring requirements traceability. Ability to document and analyze business processes using standardized modeling techniques (e.g. BPMN). Knowledge of insurance industry best practices. Knowledge of lending industry best practices. Candidates who do not meet all essential criteria may be considered on an underfill basis at a commensurate rate of pay.

Desired Qualifications

Experience using TOGAF methodology, is an asset. Experience with strategic analysis, data or decision modeling, or process improvement techniques, is an asset. Experience supporting enterprise system implementations (e.g. HRIS/HCM), is an asset. Knowledge of modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques, is an asset. Knowledge of organization change management, is an asset. Knowledge of UX prototyping, accessibility standards, or Agile prioritization methods, is an asset. Knowledge of agriculture, is an asset. Ability to communicate verbally in both official languages (French and English), is an asset.

Conditions Of Employment

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Must possess a valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba.

SALARY: $84,825 to $113,857 per annum
