Role Overview The Product Manager is responsible for providing end-to-end product management services, including product vision, strategy, delivery planning, and ongoing monitoring. This role ensures products are delivered in a timely, cost-effective, and customer-focused manner while aligning with organizational objectives and agile delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities Identify strategic and operational requirements within a product management environment for IT initiatives Provide ongoing recommendations to refine and enhance product management delivery processes Define and communicate product vision and product strategy Prioritize features and manage the product backlog to maintain shared team focus Establish and track measurable product objectives and success metrics Determine appropriate timing for product releases Continuously de-risk product direction using validated customer needs and business opportunities Coordinate and monitor product management activities to ensure quality outcomes Communicate effectively with product teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership
Specific Deliverables Product vision and roadmap (current, near-term, and future) Product strategy, including target users, problems to be solved, and value propositions Customer discovery insights through end-user research Product backlogs and user stories developed in collaboration with business product owners Product KPIs and metrics dashboards Product decision rationales and risk mitigation strategies Executive-level communications, including summaries and status updates Ongoing delivery of product features using user-centered design and Agile (Scrum) methodologies
Qualifications & Skills Relationship Management (35%) Strong communication and mediation skills with business and technical teams Proven experience in team building, consensus building, and stakeholder relationship management Experience managing change across product lifecycle stages (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live) Product Management (35%) Proactive identification and mitigation of product risks and issues Ability to present issues and recommendations to senior executives Experience creating and maintaining product roadmaps Delivery experience with cross-functional agile teams (Scrum); Scrum Master experience preferred Experience with product, program, or portfolio-level reporting Participation in steering committees and stakeholder forums Technical Skills (10%) Basic knowledge of cloud platforms Experience with online collaboration tools Experience with backlog and work management tools Soft Skills (20%) Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills Excellent verbal and written communication Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Proven ability to deliver complex, high-risk initiatives on schedule
Must-Have Qualifications Demonstrated communication and mediation experience with business and delivery teams Experience managing resistance to change across all product lifecycle stages Ability to articulate and prioritize risks and issues at senior executive levels Basic cloud platform knowledge Experience with backlog management tools Nice-to-Have Public sector or broader government experience
