Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.

We are currently accepting applications for summer students interested in working as a Youth Worker
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the participant requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Agreement with as outlined:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- Note: International students are not eligible participants.
What you'll get to do:
- Assist in planning and delivering workshops, cultural exchange events, arts-based activities that engage both newcomer and Indigenous youth.
- Introduce youth to foundational AI concepts, such as responsible use of AI tools, digital ethics, and applications for creativity and, communication
- Help design and implement youth-led digital projects such as video storytelling, digital art, and AI-assisted creative initiatives.
- Assist in implementing life skills workshops and youth focused activities using digital platforms
- Promote anti-racism, intercultural understanding, and inclusive practices throughout program delivery
- Assist with the supervision of youth participants and volunteers
What you need to know/have:
- Currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary education; post-secondary studies are considered an asset.
- Candidates who self-identify as racialized youth and bring lived experience are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate work ethics in alignment with CCS core values.
- Strong organizational skills to support planning and delivery of activities and programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of language barriers and cultural challenges faced by newcomer individuals in vulnerable communities is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community members.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with digital tools and platforms (e.g., Canva, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, social media).
Location: Toronto, ON
Hours: 35 per week, occasional weekends and evenings may be required.
Compensation: $17.60 per hour
