The Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (VPRI) serves to encourage, facilitate, administer and promote research at SFU; advocate for university research generally; and guide policy development at university and government levels. About the Role The Congress Project Manager leads SFU's institutional planning and delivery for the 2027 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences (Congress) event. The role is responsible for integrated project planning, governance, financial oversight and coordination of internal and external stakeholders. As the primary liaison with the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (Federation), the position ensures alignment, institutional readiness and successful delivery across planning, on-site and wrap-up phases. Full Job Description Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other relevant discipline and five years of related experience in project management, stakeholder coordination, financial management, and complex event delivery, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Excellent knowledge of project management best practices and methodology. Excellent analytical reasoning, time management, and organizational skills. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills. Excellent facilitation, negotiation, listening and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization.
