As a Cyber Security Analyst Co-op Student, you will be responsible for individual and collaborative work to effectively execute a broad set of activities. The role is accountable for working directly with security, technology, and business groups to build and promote a positive security culture across the organization. This includes engaging with the business to identify and assess security requirements. You will leverage subject matter expertise to develop various assessments, metrics, and work with experts to leverage knowledge based on industry frameworks (NIST, ISO etc.) Here's where you'll be focusing Use internal frameworks to assess secure systems, vendors, or processes and document what you find in a clear way. Keep risk records, assessments, and documentation organized and up to date Identify improvements: Assess current processes and recommend practical ways to strengthen security or make workflows more efficient. Promote security awareness: Create materials or messages that help teams understand cyber risks and how to work securely day to day. Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned to support the Manager Cyber Security Governance & Compliance regarding all aspects of Enterprise and IT Risk Management. What you have to offer Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or a related program. You are curious about how organizations manage risk and protect their systems and data. You can break down problems, assess risk, and think through possible solutions. You can explain technical ideas in a clear and simple way, both in writing and conversation. You are careful and thorough, especially when working with sensitive information.
