About the role
As a Café Kitchen Steward - Fixed Term, you will support Irving Oil's Café operations at our Saint John Refinery location by maintaining clean, safe, and organized kitchen, storage, and service areas while contributing to a positive and branded employee experience. Your goal will be to ensure the efficient operation of the Café through proper sanitation, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and support of daily food service activities. Your success will depend on your ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to a collaborative team culture that delivers exceptional service. This is a Fixed Term contract position anticipated to last until Nov 13, 2026. Hours of operation for this position range are between 6:00am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing Empty, clean, and maintain trash cans Clean, sweep, and mop all areas in the kitchen and serving area Break down cardboard boxes and remove all garbage to the utility room for disposal Record daily logs required within your area of responsibility Report any maintenance or repair needs to the manager Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support the team in achieving common goals Ensure adherence to quality expectations and operational standards Perform other reasonable job duties as requested Your Skills: Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills Strong communication skills with a friendly, energetic, and team-oriented attitude Your Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in the food service industry is an asset, preferably 3-5 years The expected salary range for this position is $37,440 - $44,928.
