The Role We are looking for a Veterinary Research Mentor to support high-achieving pre-vet students through the development and completion of original literature-based research projects in veterinary medicine, animal science, and related disciplines. If you hold a DVM, PhD, or both and are passionate about mentorship, this role is an excellent fit. This is a part-time, remote, 1099 contract role that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada. Responsibilities Mentor undergraduate students through the full research process, from topic selection and literature review to manuscript development and final deliverables Guide students in developing feasible, high-quality research questions aligned with their academic and career goals Provide structured feedback on research plans, literature synthesis, and written research drafts Help students understand research standards and discipline-specific expectations Support students pursuing outcomes such as academic papers, posters, or journal submissions, depending on program scope Track progress against defined milestones and timelines to ensure consistent forward momentum Qualifications DVM, PhD, or both in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field Demonstrated experience conducting academic or veterinary research Strong background in literature review, research methodology, and scientific writing Experience mentoring students or trainees Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong planning, organization, and project management skills A passion for mentorship and student development For more information about our company, please visit our website: Inspira Education Group.
