About the role

Our team in Canada is growing. We are recruiting a Junior 3D Piping Designer – Contract to join the Industrial & Infrastructure Team at our Burlington Office.

About The Role

Assist in the development of piping layouts, 3D models, and detailed design drawings for industrial, chemical, and process plant projects under the guidance of senior designers and engineers. Support the preparation of piping isometrics, line lists, and material take-offs. Assist with the development of mechanical equipment layouts and general arrangement drawings. Coordinate with other disciplines, including structural, electrical, process, and HVAC teams, to support integrated project delivery. Assist in the preparation and revision of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Develop 3D piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D and generate 2D drawings from the models. Interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, and vendor drawings with guidance from senior team members. Assist with ensuring accessibility for operations, maintenance, safety, and equipment servicing requirements in plant layouts. . Support engineering and design teams in meeting project schedules and deliverable requirements. Follow company drafting standards, design procedures, and quality assurance processes.

About You

Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (Process Piping Major) or a Process Piping Drafting Certificate from a recognized institution. 0–2 years of piping design experience; co-op, internship, or relevant academic project experience will be considered. Familiarity with industrial, process, chemical, or manufacturing facilities is considered an asset. Basic knowledge of piping design principles, piping components, and industry standards. Exposure to AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D is an asset. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Eagerness to learn and develop technical piping design skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally for site visits is considered an asset.

Salary range: $59,000 to $65,000
