The Business Analyst (BA) plays a key role in supporting organizational improvement and business transformation initiatives. This position focuses on understanding business needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping shape solutions that enhance processes, services, and ways of working across the organization. Working under the guidance of the Manager, Business Analysis and Insights team, the BA partners closely with business areas and project teams to analyze current practices, support informed decision-making, and contribute to the delivery of meaningful change. In this role, the Business Analyst helps bridge the gap between business priorities and solution delivery, ensuring that initiatives are aligned with organizational goals and deliver measurable value. The role also contributes to the development of business cases and supports the successful implementation of transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Business Analysis & Solution Development Build relationships with business partners and stakeholders. Collaborate with business and technical teams to develop business cases and solution options. Analyze business processes and recommend improvements. Support requirements elicitation, prioritization, and testing. Strategy & Innovation Investigate new technologies or business processes to meet future needs. Support sustainable and adaptable solutions aligned to organizational goals. Implementation Support & Operations Apply business analysis and change management techniques during implementation. Support BA tools and operational frameworks. Assist with training materials and end-user adoption. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Engage with stakeholders across the organization. Gather requirements and present findings clearly. Facilitate discussions to support decision-making. Analysis, Testing & Delivery Support Conduct detailed analysis for project deliverables. Participate in testing and quality assurance. Ensure accuracy and completeness of outputs. Professional Development & Continuous Improvement Stay current on BA methodologies and trends. Share knowledge and best practices. Maintain certifications where applicable. Skills & Abilities: Analytical Thinking: Ability to review data, identify insights, and recommend data-driven actions. Business Analysis Techniques: Knowledge of industry-standard BA tools and methodologies (e.g., IIBA frameworks). Problem Solving: Strong capability to identify root causes and develop solution options. Communication Skills: Ability to elicit requirements and present findings to diverse stakeholders. Systems Thinking: Understanding of how processes, technology, and strategy align across the organization. Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Business, IT, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a business analyst. Must be able to attend work in person at NAIT’s Main Campus in Edmonton when required. Strong facilitation and communication skills. Experience conducting projects at all stages from planning to implementation and post go live support. Proficiency in all IIBA recommended BA tools and techniques. Cover letter. Experience in a post-secondary educational institution as an asset. Business Analyst certification (ECBA, CCBA or CBAP) will be considered an asset. Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) or equivalent will be considered an asset. Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES). Remuneration: Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
