About the role
**POSITION: Junior School Teacher - temporary **
**ASSIGNMENT: ADST - Textiles, Career Education (Gr 8-9). This position has a grade 8/9 Foods/Textiles focus. It also includes Career Education classes. There will be opportunities to work collaboratively within the POD structure. **
**FTE: 1.0 **
**LOCATION: Quesnel Junior School **
**EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing April 16, 2026 until June 30, 2026, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent, with the possibility of reduction in FTE. **
**Basic Qualifications: **A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:
**Training Specialization: **
- Secondary Education with major/minor in Home Economics
**Related Teaching Experience: **Recent successful experience teaching foods and textiles at the Secondary level
**A Reasonable Expectation: **based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
**Additional Qualifications: **
- Have Food Safe Certification and proficiency with food equipment
**Other: **Commitment to the house-based team structure
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61, 175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
