The Role

We are looking for an experienced eCommerce Growth Strategist to lead strategy across a portfolio of client accounts.

In this role, you will act as the strategic lead, client partner, and internal team lead for assigned accounts. You will oversee the growth strategy for each client and manage the specialists responsible for execution across paid media, email/SMS, creative, and supporting workstreams.

This role requires someone who understands how the key pieces of eCommerce growth work together - Meta Ads, Google Ads, email/SMS, creative testing, offers, landing pages, Shopify performance, conversion rate, AOV, LTV, MER, ROAS, CAC, and retention.

You will be responsible for setting strategic direction, leading client communication, guiding internal priorities, managing team execution, and ensuring each client has a clear growth plan that is being actively executed.

The ideal candidate is strategic, analytical, organized, proactive, and confident leading both clients and internal team members.

This is a remote contractor role.

Responsibilities

Serve as the strategic lead and primary client partner for assigned eCommerce accounts Lead weekly client strategy calls, presenting performance insights, growth opportunities, priorities, and recommendations Develop and maintain holistic growth strategies across paid media, email/SMS, creative, offer testing, retention, and website/CRO opportunities Lead and manage internal specialists across paid media, email/SMS, creative, and other client workstreams Set weekly priorities for internal team members and ensure client deliverables are completed with strong strategic alignment Review client performance across platforms including Shopify, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Klaviyo, GA4, and reporting tools Monitor client goals, revenue targets, ad spend, efficiency metrics, pacing, and key performance indicators Identify growth constraints, performance issues, creative needs, funnel gaps, retention opportunities, and strategic blockers Work with paid media specialists to guide campaign priorities, budget allocation, testing plans, optimization opportunities, and scaling strategies Work with email/SMS specialists to guide campaign calendars, flow strategy, segmentation, promotional planning, and retention initiatives Work with creative team members to guide ad angles, hooks, messaging, testing priorities, creative feedback, and performance learnings Prepare and present client reports, performance recaps, strategic recommendations, and growth roadmaps Translate complex marketing data into clear, actionable insights for clients and internal teams Manage timelines, priorities, follow-ups, and accountability across multiple client accounts Proactively communicate with clients and internal teams to keep strategy and execution moving forward Anticipate client needs and develop solutions before issues escalate Support team development by providing clear feedback, strategic direction, and guidance to specialists working on your accounts Maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach when performance is under pressure or priorities shift

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in eCommerce growth marketing, performance marketing, retention marketing, or agency strategy Strong experience working with direct-to-consumer eCommerce brands Strong understanding of Shopify-based eCommerce businesses Strong understanding of paid media strategy across Meta Ads and Google Ads Strong understanding of email and SMS marketing, preferably with Klaviyo experience Experience developing growth strategies that connect acquisition, retention, creative, offers, and conversion rate optimization Experience managing or leading internal teams, pods, specialists, or cross-functional projects Experience leading client calls, presenting strategy, and communicating with founders, executives, or marketing leaders Ability to interpret performance data across multiple platforms and turn it into clear strategic recommendations Experience working with metrics such as revenue, ROAS, MER, CAC, AOV, LTV, conversion rate, retention rate, contribution margin, and email/SMS revenue contribution Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized and able to manage multiple clients, priorities, deadlines, and workstreams Strong business sense and ability to think beyond platform-level metrics Proactive, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership of client outcomes Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team

Nice to Have

Experience managing advertising budgets of $100,000+ per month across Meta, Google, and/or TikTok Experience working with DTC brands doing $1M-$100M+ in annual revenue Experience with tools such as Triple Whale, Northbeam, Looker Studio, ClickUp, Figma, Slack, or similar platforms Experience building 90-day growth plans, creative testing roadmaps, promotional calendars, and retention strategies Experience with TikTok Ads, influencer marketing, landing page strategy, CRO, or UGC creative strategy Experience working with subscription brands, supplement brands, apparel brands, beauty brands, food/beverage brands, or other fast-growing DTC categories Track record of helping scale eCommerce brands through strategic planning and cross-channel execution
