Role Description This is a contract, on-site Electrician role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Daily tasks include inspecting wiring and fixtures, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing electrical issues, and completing troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime. The Electrician will collaborate with operations and facility teams, document work performed, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and safety. The role may also involve supporting electrical upgrades, equipment relocations, and new installations in production or warehouse environments. Qualifications Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical principles, with the ability to apply them in commercial or industrial settings. Hands-on experience in electrical work, including installation of wiring, outlets, panels, and fixtures. Proficiency in maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical faults, diagnosing issues efficiently, and implementing effective solutions. Background in electrical engineering or related technical training, with familiarity with relevant codes and standards. Valid electrician certification or license for the province of Ontario, and demonstrated adherence to safety practices. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation, and use appropriate tools and test equipment. Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team. Previous experience in manufacturing, food processing, or industrial facilities is an asset.
