Activation Worker - Temporary Full Time for 6 months, with possibility of extension Under the supervision of the Activation Manager, the Activation Worker plans and conducts daily activation, recreational and social programs for residents of the LTC Home that reflects the organization's resident centred approach to improve and maintain the residents' quality of life in the Home. Qualifications: Diploma in Recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or equivalent Experience in a social services or long-term care setting an asset Experience and skills in facilitating activation and therapeutic recreation programs, preferably working with the geriatric population Creativity and innovativeness in developing meaningful programs for clients within a tight budget Superb customer service skills. Demonstrated initiative to support the clients and team in a positive and efficient manner. Computer literacy. Knowledge of Chinese word processing, an asset Current CPR Certificate Current Food Handler Safety Certificate Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen Ability to communicate in English and Chinese Responsibilities: Conducts timely and accurate assessment of residents upon admission and on a quarterly basis.
