Job Description:

This role sits within Treasury & Payment Solutions (TPS) group and focuses on advancing the bank’s commercial payments capabilities through ISO 20022 modernization, product innovation, and delivery of next‑generation payment experiences. The Business Analyst will work across product, technology, operations, and compliance teams to translate business needs into actionable requirements that shape BMO’s payment products and platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years as a Business Analyst in payments, commercial banking, or financial services.

Deep expertise in ISO 20022 message structures, mapping, and implementation.

Strong understanding of payment rails: wires, ACH/EFT, SWIFT, RTR/real‑time payments, cross‑border flows.

Experience working in Agile environments with Product Owners and Scrum teams.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business requirements.

Proficiency with tools such as Visio, Confluence, Jira, Swagger, or similar.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.

Nice‑to‑Have:

Experience with Payments Canada Modernization, RTR, or SWIFT CBPR+.

Background in commercial banking or treasury management.

Knowledge of API‑based payment products and data‑rich remittance solutions.

Familiarity with BMO systems, payment platforms, or legacy modernization programs.
