Role: Security Architect - Investment Industry Type: Contract Rate Range: $90 - $110/hr C2C (40 hrs /week) Duration: 6-12 months + potential extensions Location: Hybrid (4 onsite/1 day from home) downtown Toronto, ON, Canada
Security Architect Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract (adjust as applicable) About the Team The Information Security team partners with business and technology departments to advance cybersecurity, information risk management, and third-party risk capabilities. The team enables the organization to securely adopt innovative technologies while protecting critical business assets. The Security Architecture Engineering team is responsible for defining, designing, and implementing enterprise security controls, ensuring applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments meet organizational security standards and regulatory requirements. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise security architecture across key business initiatives and technology platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with business leaders, solution architects, engineering teams, and security stakeholders to develop secure technology solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and cybersecurity best practices. You will play a critical role in defining security architecture roadmaps, developing secure solution designs, and ensuring compliance with industry frameworks and organizational security objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise security architecture across applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and technology initiatives. Develop security architecture strategies aligned with business goals and enterprise architecture standards. Support the implementation of enterprise architecture vision through: Architecture roadmaps Transition architectures Solution architecture documentation Design secure solutions that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Assess existing security architecture and recommend improvements to security processes, controls, and infrastructure. Build and maintain the enterprise solution architecture lifecycle, including: Methodologies Standards Processes Deliverables Models Roles and responsibilities Act as a trusted security advisor to business and technical stakeholders. Facilitate architecture discussions, build consensus, resolve technical challenges, and drive secure technology decisions. Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture principles, standards, and governance. Provide security guidance for application, infrastructure, cloud, and information architecture initiatives. Collaborate with infrastructure, application development, cloud, and security teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions. Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline. 10+ years of experience as a Security Architect or in a senior cybersecurity architecture role. Strong experience developing enterprise security architecture strategies. Experience designing, implementing, and governing enterprise security solutions. Experience supporting large enterprise technology environments. Consulting experience within large enterprise organizations is considered an asset.
