Accounts Receivable Coordinator for provincial government agency client, downtown Toronto.
Marberg Job Number: 2875. Job Type: Temporary. Initial Term: August 31, 2026 to February 28, 2027, with possibility of extension or direct-hire. Existing Vacancy: Yes. Compensation: $32.96 per hour. Regular Work Hours: 7.0 hours work hours per day not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (35.0 work hours per week). Work Location: 100% onsite at client's downtown Toronto office. Position Reports To: Finance Manager.
Responsibilities Summary: Provide revenue and accounts receivable processing services, overseeing receipt and validation of incoming payments for compliance with financial policies and procedures. In addition, will provide additional administrative, financial processing and compliance services including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, recording, and reconciling accounts receivables' data in support finance and compliance teams. Generate and submit invoices for management approval, and input to appropriate accounts. Create batch files, including supporting documentation, and after review upload to create complete on-line records. Reconcile batch transactions. Process, record and deposit all methods of revenue transactions in accordance with approved accounts receivable procedures. Process credit notes. Liaise with regulatory branches to reconcile payments and determine appropriate account allocations. Investigate and analyze electronic funds transfers, wire transfers and other forms of electronic payment and ensure allocation to correct account receivable. Perform follow-up analysis as required. Monitor and manage all accounts receivable activity. Perform reconciliations. Coordinate accounts receivable information with Finance and other program areas. Update systems to record returned cheques and follow-up on collection activity. Issue reminder notices and collection letters and follow-up on overdue accounts. Perform daily reviews of bank records for to verify all transactions have been appropriately approved. Update customer and accounts receivable files to reflect all related activity. Post approved batches and general journal entries. Provide overdue accounts reports and analysis to management on a monthly basis, and support year end internal and external audit processes. Maintain manual and electronic filing system for revenue and accounts receivable related documents. Additional revenue and accounts receivable processing and tracking responsibilities as required.
Qualifications: Education: 2-year community college diploma in finance, business, accounting, or related field. Preferred Work Experience: Approximately 1-3 years of accounting related experience in an accounting department including experience in reconciliation processes.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements: Proficiency in MSExcel to create and run reports, perform data analysis, and utilize formulas and pivot tables (will be tested). Strong alphanumeric data entry and attention to detail (will be tested). Knowledge of generally accepted accounts receivable processes and procedures (will be tested). Familiarity with Workday or equivalent ERP system such as Dynamics 365 or Oracle preferred. Strong English language skills including strong business writing skills and verbal conversational skills suitable for a diverse range of internal and external audiences. Professional telephone manners.

Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy. Superior attention to detail, and organized, methodical approach to completion of tasks. Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively and liaise effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Requirements: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request. Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies. Ability to promptly provide 3 recent, qualified employment references upon request who are available to speak with either Marberg or Marberg's client. Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities. Ability to complete a satisfactory Provincial Government security check, which may include a Fingerprint Check, prior to assignment start. Please note that Marberg will reimburse for the cost of the security checks upon confirmation of assignment start and submission of approved expense receipts. Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start. Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, Interpersonal Skills Assessment, and Employment References as required.
