COMPUTER SCIENCE (420)- NETWORK ADMINISTRATION AEC- B

THE CENTRE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION has the following anticipated vacancies for the Fall 2026 Semester – Network Administration AEC LEA.80 Daytime (Net-46) September 21 to December 18, 2026.

As a teacher in our comprehensive NETWORK ADMINISTRATION program, you will provide students with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the ever-evolving world of technology.

The NETWORK ADMINISTRATION program, allows students to emerge as adept professionals capable of understanding diverse network protocols and mastering the installation and maintenance of network hardware. They will be proficient in troubleshooting both PC and network hardware, as well as client and network operating systems. Additionally, students willgain the expertise to design, implement, and manage both local and wide area networks, all while catering to the unique needs of users.

Required Qualifications COMPUTERSCIENCE (420)

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field may be considered

  • Minimum of 3 years appropriate professional/industry experience

  • Several years related teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred

  • Excellent English communication skills essential

  • Bilingualism (English/French) and ability to teach in French are preferred, as in the context of Bill 96 and the changes to the Charte de la langue française, if there is a need, the candidate must be willing and able to teach in French.

  • Equivalent establishes a general comparison between two official education systems

  • In addition to the above :

420-641-AB: Internship

  • Experience in teaching Network Administration courses (required)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2019 (or above) (required)

  • Experience in Linux server administration (preferred)

  • Experience in Active Directory Administration(preferred)

  • Experience in Cloud technologies Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure (preferred)

  • Experience supervising staff and/or student interns in an IT work environment

  • Ability to collaborate with all program stakeholders to achieve the goals of the internship

RESPONSIBILITIES RELATEDTOIN****TERNSHIP **420-641-**AB:

  • Inform the Program Coordinator of any internship related problems (CNESST, absences, psychological harassment, etc.)

  • Monitor, and evaluate students' acquisition of the internship course competencies and provide relevant feedback

  • Ensure that tasks and duties assigned to interns are program-related and that the workload is appropriate:

  • Communicate with the internship host supervisor regarding student progress and industry trends

  • Visit with the interns and their internship supervisor at the host company (on-site or virtual) for the purpose of evaluation

  • Submit to Program Coordinator an internship report at the end of internship (synopsis of placements, issues encountered, points of interest including trends in industry, etc.)

N.B.

  • Number of hours to be determined at a ratio between 6 - 7 hours per student registered in the course.

  • The candidate who is selected will be REQUIRED to attend the following training session(s) prior to the beginning of classes:

o CNESST Presentation:

  • Bill 59 - An Act to modernize the occupational health and safety regime

  • Psychological Harassment

o Health and Safety Training Courses:

Safety Hub courses and quizzes

N.B. Contracts are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment in each course. Starting date and location for each course to be determined by the Centre for Continuing Education.

Note: In accordance with art. 4-4.04 of the Collective Agreement, the Selection Committee may, exceptionally, recommend to the College that pertinent additional professional and/or industrial experience be considered in lieu of the stated minimum educational requirement. Candidates to be considered under this option must have completed at least the equivalent of a DEC or AEC. Education superior to the stated minimum requirement may be substituted for professional/industrial experience at the discretion of the selection committee.
