AOC Administrative Assistant to Council Department: Governance & Executive Operations Location: Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin Offices – Dawson, YT Posting Date: June 26, 2026 Standard Hours Bi-Weekly: Auxiliary on-call Start Date: Immediately End Date: March 31, 2027 Salary: Level 6 Step 1 ($41.19 hourly) Closing Date 4:00pm (YST): Ongoing Further to the direction of the TH Council and under the direct supervision of the Executive Assistant, the primary role of the AOC Administrative Assistant to Council is to provide clerical and administrative support to TH Council, Elders Council and Youth Council. These duties largely focus on administrative support for Council meetings, general administrative, minutes taking and clerical support to TH Council and leading or assisting in events coordinated by the Governance and Executive Operations Department. An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires. Essential Qualifications: Completion of post-secondary diploma in Office Administration, or a combination of Grade 12 or equivalent and coursework in Office Administration or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years work experience in executive administrative assistance. An equivalent combination of education, knowledge, skills and experience will be considered. Good working knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in social structure, culture and traditions. General working knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in’s self-government and implementation agreements and constitution. Experience in undertaking research, including Internet research. Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Efficient in minute-taking and transcribing. Efficient in record keeping and filing. Ability to maintain confidentiality as a condition of employment.
