FIRE AND PUBLIC SAFETY EDUCATOR (Temporary, Casual)
NATURE OF POSITION: Hiring two (2) temporary, casual position of the Fire and Public Safety Educator.
Working under the supervision of the Manager of Emergency Preparedness or their designate, the FirePublic Safety Educator develops and delivers fire prevention and emergency preparedness outreach programs. The work is primarily education oriented and requires creation and delivery of presentations and programs that foster commitment to individual, family and community preparedness actions. Assigned duties require the ability to deliver educational outreach and awareness programs to foster community engagement, by providing public safety information in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
RATE OF PAY: $33.53 per hour (January 1, 2026 rate)
DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: As set out in the job description.
START DATE: June 1, 2026
END DATE: March 17, 2028
BENEFITS: In accordance with the Collective Agreement with C.U.P.E. Local 1699. This is a Union position.
