The Manager, Legal Service Delivery, supports the Director, Paraprofessional Services and the Director, Legal Support Services in delivering the national mandate for Paraprofessional Services (PSG) and Legal Support Services (LSS) by overseeing high quality service delivery and team performance for PSG and LSS within their regional BLG office. In this role, the Manager provides direct leadership for regional workflow and capacity management, performance management, process improvement, technology adoption, and role specific training and development. As a key member of the national Legal Service Delivery leadership team, each Manager also contributes expertise to national initiatives, standards, and training programs. This role is a 15 month contract position. Key Responsibilities and Skills The key responsibilities of this role are: Oversee workflow, capacity, and staffing to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery Working with the Regional Group Manager, oversee regional PSG and LSS workflow, capacity, and utilization, ensuring quality of performance, equitable work allocation, and appropriate lawyer-to-support ratios. Monitor volume trends, optimize resourcing, and coordinate file transitions (e.g., departures/retirements) Manage lawyer–practice assistant pairings and support paraprofessional capacity planning Support workforce planning, including hiring, role design, and onboarding programs Contribute to recruitment, candidate assessment, and development of early talent pipelines (including student programs) Champion adoption of legal technology, tools, and AI solutions to enhance service delivery Lead process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and client experience Support performance management, including coaching, training, and career development for Paraprofessional and Legal Support Services teams Participate in performance reviews, feedback processes, and compensation recommendations Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture and support engagement initiatives Promote the firm’s hybrid working policy and manage the budget for initiatives that support culture, engagement, and team connectivity Act as a national subject matter expert in a designated practice area or specialty Key Competencies What you will bring to this role: Diploma in Law Clerk, Paralegal, or Legal Assistant studies 10+ years of experience in a legal service delivery role Bilingualism (English/French) – required for the Montréal office Excellent understanding of legal service delivery functions, with technical expertise in at least one practice area Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience Advanced knowledge of legal matter lifecycle processes and supporting systems Legal Project Management (LPM) and/or Certified Human Resources Professional Designations would be considered an asset What does BLG have to offer you?
