  Description:Course Number and Title:  ECO359H1S Financial Economics II: Corporate Finance (Section LEC0101)   Course Description: Agency and incomplete information problems inherent in financial transactions; the role of contractual arrangements in overcoming them. Financial constraints on investment decisions of firms; the financial system in economic growth; the legal system in the functioning of financial markets. A look at theoretical and empirical literature covering these issues.   Estimated course enrolment: 125   Estimated TA support: 180 (contingent upon enrolment and funding)   Class Schedule                                       Class Schedule: Monday 15:00-17:00; Wednesday 12:00-13:00   The delivery method for this course is currently in person. Please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the Department.   Sessional dates of appointment: January 1 - April 30, 2027   Salary (per section): $9,997.48 Sessional Lecturer I $10,699.22 Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term $10,699.22 Sessional Lecturer II $10,953.96 Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term $10,953.96 Sessional Lecturer III $11,228.90 Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term   Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.   Minimum qualifications:

PhD in Economics Prior experience teaching this course (or a similar course) at the university level Ability and experience teaching large classes

Preferred qualifications:

Demonstrated excellence in teaching over four or more years

Preparation and delivery of lectures in this course Supervision of teaching assistant(s) assigned to course Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examinations in accordance with University regulations Providing scheduled office hours for academic counseling of students
