Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Program Team Manager, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Endocrine Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care for patients with endocrine disturbances; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience
Three (3) to five (5) years related clinical experience, preferably in Endocrinology.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Current C.R.N.M registration required. B.N. preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Post-basic course in advanced assessment and nursing skills preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Current CRNM registration required. Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications And Skills
Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise. Ability to adapt readily to changing demands and situations. Demonstrated effective teaching skills. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
