IT UX Designer-L1 (12 month contract)

General Description

The IT UX Designer Level 1 is accountable for the user experience design and usability of complex web and mobile-based applications, ensuring the integrity of the user experience in accordance with established organizational standards, guidelines, and best practices.

Experience And Role Accountabilities

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in web or mobile user experience design or an equivalent role. Design the overall usability of complex web and mobile-based applications and user interface solutions by defining information architecture, navigation structures, and wireframes, while collaborating closely with application developers and cross-functional teams to ensure a high-quality user experience. Identify requirements, goals, and tasks for design initiatives by consulting with stakeholders to understand business strategies, user needs, and branding objectives. Conduct user research, analyze workflows, and assist in content development to create compelling and effective user experiences. Plan and conduct usability testing using wireframes, visual design prototypes, or interactive applications. Create participant screeners, test scenarios, and clickable prototypes; facilitate testing sessions; analyze findings; identify usability issues; and recommend improvements. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including senior leadership, IT teams, external vendors, subject matter experts, project teams, business units, and project managers to support successful project delivery. Provide ongoing guidance and expertise related to web and mobile user experience design standards, interactive design trends, and usability best practices to help strengthen organizational capabilities.

Education And Skills

Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tools (e.g., Visio, Axure, or similar). Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for a professional environment. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders. Knowledge of user-centered design principles, information architecture, usability testing, and accessibility best practices.
