The team emphasizes a respectful, compassionate environment for both clients and clinicians. Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a Couples & Family Therapist at Sukoon Cares. The therapist will provide individual, couples, and family psychotherapy with a focus on relational dynamics, communication patterns, and intergenerational factors, particularly within South Asian cultural contexts. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing collaborative treatment plans, and delivering ongoing evidence-informed therapy sessions via secure telehealth platforms. The role includes maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, coordinating care with other providers as needed, and participating in case consultations or team meetings. The therapist will also engage in culturally responsive practice, uphold ethical standards, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive therapeutic environment. Qualifications Strong foundation in Psychology and evidence-informed therapeutic modalities relevant to couples and family work. Demonstrated experience in Family Therapy, including working with relational conflict, communication challenges, and intergenerational issues. Background in Mental Health care, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a range of emotional and behavioral concerns. Skills in Case Management, including care coordination, referrals, and follow-up to support client continuity of care. Experience with or openness to Clinical Supervision (providing or receiving), with a commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice. Licensed or license-eligible mental health professional (e.g., LMFT, LPC, LCSW, Psychologist, or equivalent, depending on jurisdiction). Experience or strong interest in culturally responsive care, particularly with the South Asian diaspora or other immigrant communities. Excellent communication skills, professional boundaries, and reliability in a remote, telehealth setting. Comfort with electronic health records, teletherapy platforms, and basic digital communication tools. Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
