Hourly rate: $39.33
Position End Date: June 30, 2027

This position will support the School in teaching the Early Childhood Education Diploma and Certificate. These hours are delivered face to face on the main SAIT campus in Calgary.
We are looking for people available to teach one or more of the following courses:
- COMN 200 – Communication in Early Childhood Education – Summer (July & August) contract Tues/Wed 10-12
- ECED 200 – Programming 1 – Introduction to early Childhood Education – Fall contract (September - December) Mon 8 to 11 and Thurs 8 to 11
- ECED 250 – Programming 2 – Play and Provocations – Fall contract (September - December) Tues 1-3 and Wed 2 –4
- ECED 301 – Programming 4 – will be 2nd instructor Outdoor Learning – fall contract Tues 1-4
- Practicum Support – ongoing throughout the year
Please indicate in your cover letter which course you would be interested in teaching and confirm that you are able to teach the hours as indicated above. There is no flexibility in the teaching times.
How you'll contribute
- Assist with preparation and delivery of lectures and lab demonstrations to students enrolled in the program and/or assist other instructors in program delivery
- Use innovative instructional techniques to create an optimal learning environment
- Collaborate with members of the ECE team and across campus
- Participate in curriculum, certification and program reviews as required
- Prepare additional materials for learners
- Evaluate student progress and achievement by provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
- Maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
- Promote and support SAIT Polytechnic’s mission statements, strategic and academic plans
- Remain current in the Early Childhood field
What you bring
- A minimum of a diploma in Early Childhood Education with relevant experience
- Minimum of five years of related experience in the Early Childhood Education industry working directly with children in the Calgary area
- A bachelor’s degree with a focus on Early Childhood Education would be considered an asset
- Experience teaching at a post-secondary level is preferred
- Level 3 Child Care Certification (formerly known as Child Development Supervisor)
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- A high degree of flexibility and adaptability to unexpected and changing conditions
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment
- A genuine interest in teaching and mentoring
