Under the guidance of the Director and senior members of the Practice Initiatives team, the successful candidate will support a range of initiatives as part of a creative group dedicated to using cutting-edge technology and streamlined processes to transform the way we practice law, train associates, and deliver legal services to clients.
Reporting to the Director, Practice Initiatives, the Practice Support Lawyer will be embedded within our Real Estate and Technology practice groups. By working alongside leading legal professionals and leveraging modernized processes and the best of legal technology, the successful candidate will assist in delivering market-leading, cost-effective, and efficient legal solutions to the Real Estate and Technology practice groups and their clients.

Major Responsibilities
Assist with identifying, evaluating, and implementing new AI-powered and generative AI tools to improve workflows and enhance the quality and efficiency of client service delivery across practice groups Support the development, maintenance, and curation of practice group knowledge and process resources, including playbooks, checklists, precedent libraries, templates, guidelines and other resources Prepare and curate resources needed to conduct project management and data analytics, and integrate with AI-powered and generative AI tools, as well as other legal technology platforms Support the development, creation, and delivery of substantive training programs and materials for students, associates and clerks
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
Candidates must be called to the Bar of Ontario (or equivalent provincial bar, with eligibility for transfer) and possess a minimum of 1–3 years of post-call experience in a Real Estate and/or Technology practice area at a nationally recognized Canadian law firm. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong proficiency in using technology, including AI-powered and generative AI tools, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances Highly motivated and creative team player with a strong desire to learn and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Ability to take a hands-on, proactive approach, with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and take ownership of delivering results Strong problem-solving skills, with sound legal judgment, business acumen, and an analytical mindset Demonstrated interest in, or exposure to, project management; experience in supporting project management work in a legal context is an asset
Compensation:
The range of expected compensation for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including year of call, job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
