4th Class Operating Engineer
About the role
Our client, a well-established educational institution in North York, is seeking a 4th Class Stationary Engineer to join their facilities team on a 6-month contract. This position will provide coverage for the Chief Stationary Engineer.
Responsibilities: •Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC, and other mechanical building systems. •Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. •Respond to building alarms, equipment issues, and emergency situations as required. •Complete preventative maintenance and coordinate repairs when necessary. •Monitor and record operating conditions, equipment readings, and maintenance activities. •Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, operating procedures, and TSSA requirements. •Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and building automation system issues. •Support the day-to-day operation of the facility while providing coverage for the Chief Stationary Engineer.
Qualifications: •Valid 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certificate (Mandatory) •Previous experience operating and maintaining commercial or institutional building systems. •Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, and related mechanical systems. •Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, operating manuals, and technical documentation.
