About the role

Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Outreach Coordinator to support the delivery of two new employment training programs: Ready to Serve (RTS) and Renewing Expertise, Navigating Upward (RENU). This position is a contract full-time position and will end date: March 31, 2028 with possibility of extension. Job application closing date: July 10, 2026. The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for promoting and supporting participant referrals to the RTS and RENU programs through community outreach, relationship building, recruitment, and participant support activities. The Outreach Coordinator serves as the primary link between the programs and the community, ensuring that eligible participants are informed about available services and successfully connected to the programs. The role requires a highly motivated individual who is passionate about workforce development and community engagement. Program Overview: Ready to Serve (RTS) A 16‑week program prepares participants for employment in the food and service industries through workshops, paid work‑based learning, and follow‑up support. RENU Program A 16‑week program supports internationally trained professionals in Business Administration, IT, and Human Services through group learning, individualized coaching, and work‑based learning. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of RTS and RENU programs. Design, develop, and deliver outreach materials and presentations tailored to diverse audiences, including community organizations, employers, educational institutions, and referral partners. Conduct presentations and information sessions with community organizations, employers, educational institutions, settlement agencies, and other referral partners to promote the value of the RTS and RENU programs. Represent the organization at community events, job fairs, networking opportunities, and sector specific outreach initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners to support participant referrals and program visibility. Recruit eligible participants through outreach activities, referrals, and community partnerships. Conduct comprehensive intake processes, including initial participant screenings and structured, strength-based interview to assess readiness, motivation, and general program suitability. Identify participant strengths, goals, and potential barriers to success, and flag areas requiring additional support. Evaluate participant alignment with program streams (food services, human services, business, and technology) and make informed recommendations for cohort placement. Support participants throughout the intake and enrollment process, by helping to set realistic expectations and build engagement. Develop and refine interview guides, assessment tools, and intake processes to ensure consistency and quality of candidate selection. Assist in the development and distribution of promotional materials, social media content, newsletters, and community communications. Ensure program information remains accurate and up to date across all communication channels. Evaluate the effectiveness of outreach strategies, events, and materials, and adjust approaches based on participant engagement and recruitment. Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, participant contacts, referrals, and intake outcomes. Understand employer hiring needs and labour market trends to identify meaningful sector-specific work exposure and employment opportunities for participants. Enter and update outreach information with the organization’s case management system. Prepare outreach reports and contribute to program reporting requirements. Work closely with Team Lead and program staff to achieve program targets and outcomes. What This Job Requires: Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Relations, Career Development, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in community outreach, employment services, community engagement, or workforce development. Experience serving diverse, multicultural, and underrepresented populations in workforce development and employment services. Experience building partnerships with community organizations. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search, Intervention Record Check and/ or summary of driving record are conditions of employment and the financial responsibility of the candidate. Skills & Competencies Excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills. Strong presentation and public speaking abilities. Ability to engage diverse communities in a respectful and culturally responsive manner. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of community resources is considered an asset. Working Conditions: Combination of office, community, and virtual work environments. Frequent travel within the Edmonton region and surrounding communities. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support outreach activities and events.
