Quality Inspector
About the role
Matchtech are supporting a key client with the requisition of a Field Quality Inspector in Saskatchewan on a contract basis to support construction activities by ensuring work is performed, tested, and documented in accordance with project specifications, drawings, quality requirements, and applicable construction codes. This role is responsible for monitoring quality throughout the construction lifecycle, identifying non-conformances, maintaining documentation standards, and supporting safe project execution.
Key Responsibilities Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements. Verify materials and equipment delivered to site are properly received, stored, and maintained. Conduct detailed inspections at the start of each phase of construction work, including concrete, structural steel, coatings, and other disciplines. Review quality assurance and quality control documentation and verify compliance with project requirements. Manage and document punch-list inspections and monitor closeout activities. Verify subcontractor quality procedures, records, and documentation for compliance. Perform document control audits on field drawings, test records, inspection reports, and related project documentation. Identify non-conformances and verify corrective actions are completed effectively. Coordinate system walkdowns and obtain acceptance signatures from relevant stakeholders. Participate in Task Safety Observations (TSOs) and verify implementation of corrective measures. Monitor compliance with site safety requirements and quality standards. Maintain required certifications, qualifications, and inspection records. Prepare detailed inspection reports and technical documentation. Support project teams with quality-related issues and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 7 years of experience in construction quality inspection, quality assurance, or quality control roles. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification issued by AWS. Strong understanding of construction quality procedures, inspection practices, and industry standards. Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and quality documentation. Excellent technical writing and reporting skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong computer literacy and proficiency with quality documentation systems. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently in a field-based construction environment.
