About the role

We are looking for disability support workers to assist with temporary shift coverage June 1, 2026 - September 10, 2026 (start and end dates can be discussed at interview). Additional pick up hours are available as required, and could include days, evenings, weekends and overnight shifts.

The Position:

Our employees assist individuals with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible within their home and in the community. You will assist with: personal hygiene care, preparing meals, administering medications, performing lifts and/or transfers, and following behavior support programs. Duties will also include community outings, writing brief reports, household chores, and providing companionship. Some personal or professional experience in a related field of Human Service and current Standard First Aid and CPR would be an asset. Additional training will be provided as required

Hours of work: 8-12 hour shifts (7am-3pm, 3-11pm, or 11am-11pm) are available on a rotation: 2on3off, 2on2off, 3on2off; or 3on2off, 2on3off, 2on2off.

  • Location: A variety of group homes/ services within the Red Deer area
  • Mileage compensation

Hourly wage: $18.60 - $19.95

The Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or General Equivalency Diploma
  • Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Check
  • Class 5 driver’s license and own vehicle (with valid insurance & registration)
  • Acceptable Driver’s Abstract
