enior Oracle Platform Architect (Oracle Exadata, ZDLRA & OEM) Location: Remote (100%) Preferred Candidates: Canada or Mexico Duration: 6-Month Contract (High likelihood of extension) Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Platform Architect with deep expertise in Oracle Exadata (X10/X11M), Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA), and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). This is a customer-facing consulting role requiring a blend of technical leadership, solution architecture, operational excellence, and strategic advisory skills to support large-scale enterprise Oracle environments. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor who can assess existing Oracle platforms, recommend modernization strategies, optimize performance, and guide customers through high-availability and disaster recovery initiatives. Key Responsibilities Provide architectural guidance and strategic consulting for Oracle Exadata, ZDLRA, and Oracle Enterprise Manager environments. Evaluate existing Oracle infrastructures and recommend best practices for performance, scalability, monitoring, backup, recovery, and lifecycle management. Design and review enterprise Oracle platform architectures supporting mission-critical applications. Perform health assessments, architecture reviews, capacity planning, and performance optimization. Lead initiatives around platform modernization, consolidation, migration, automation, and operational transformation. Develop governance standards, operational procedures, runbooks, and technical documentation. Administer and support Oracle Exadata Database Machine environments. Manage Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM 13c/14c), including monitoring, compliance, incident management, reporting, and automation. Implement and maintain Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) solutions for enterprise backup and disaster recovery. Execute Exadata patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting activities. Manage RMAN backup and recovery operations integrated with ZDLRA. Support Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Multitenant, and Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) environments. Proactively monitor Oracle databases and infrastructure, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata X10 or X11M (required). Strong expertise in Exascale Architecture. Hands-on experience implementing and supporting Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) (required). Advanced administration experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 13c/14c. Strong Oracle Database Administration experience with Oracle Database 19c, 21c, and 26ai. Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, Multitenant architecture, and High Availability. Strong knowledge of Exadata Storage Server technologies including Smart Scan, CELLSRV, IORM, and performance optimization. Experience designing enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. Proven experience performing quarterly patching, upgrades, and platform lifecycle management. Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning skills. Experience with automation using Shell scripting, Python, Ansible, or similar technologies. Knowledge of OEM monitoring templates, compliance management, and automation frameworks.
