About the Role

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all resort infrastructure, systems, and maintenance activities at Moutcha Bay Resort. This role leads and develops the maintenance team, oversees preventative and corrective maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Working closely with resort leadership and other departments, the Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in delivering a seamless guest experience while protecting and maintaining the resort’s physical assets.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance for all resort infrastructure, systems, equipment, docks, and buildings.
  • Maintain critical systems including power, water, wastewater, fueling systems, and resort facilities.
  • Conduct daily inspections and prioritize repairs to ensure uninterrupted resort operations.
  • Monitor and maintain propane, diesel, and gasoline systems and coordinate fuel deliveries as required.
  • Ensure vehicles, equipment, and maintenance tools remain operational, safe, and properly documented.
  • Support seasonal opening and closing procedures to protect resort assets and maintain operational readiness.
  • Provide hands-on support and advanced repairs when necessary.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, organize, and support the Maintenance Department to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Schedule employees to align with operational demands and seasonal requirements.
  • Monitor work quality, productivity, and safety compliance.
  • Provide coaching and address performance concerns when necessary.
  • Support payroll accuracy, staff documentation, and employee offboarding processes.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure all resort facilities remain safe, functional, and visually appealing.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance concerns.
  • Coordinate maintenance work to minimize disruption to guest experiences.
  • Promote a service-oriented culture through professionalism, responsiveness, and teamwork.

Administration & Safety

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspections, inventories, and operational documentation.
  • Coordinate purchasing and inventory planning for maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety legislation, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct hazard assessments and enforce safe handling of fuels, propane, equipment, and hazardous materials.
  • Ensure staff certifications, PPE usage, and safety training remain current.
  • Report and document incidents, near misses, and maintenance concerns.

Qualifications

Required

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
  • Minimum of 2 years professional maintenance experience, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and diesel generators
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • WHMIS certification
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and lead a team in a fast-paced remote environment
  • Guest-focused, safety-oriented, and professional demeanor

Preferred

  • Propane Cylinder Handling and Exchange Certification
  • Propane Corporate Evaluator (CF03)
  • Basic Chainsaw Operator Training Certification
  • Experience operating tractors and excavators
  • SVOP (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency) Certification
  • ROC-M (Restricted Operator’s Certificate – Marine)
  • MED A3 (Small Domestic Vessel Basic Safety) Certification
  • OFA3 (Advanced First Aid Level 3)
