The Role We are looking for a highly intelligent, independent, and driven Process Improvement Specialist to join our team for a 1-year contract. In this highly visible corporate role within the Treasury & Shared Services – Business Process & Special Projects team, you will lead a comprehensive discovery of our Cash Applications department. Acting as a strategic partner to the Manager of Cash Operations, you will execute a complete top-to-bottom study of the department—gathering processes, updating SOPs, identifying pain points, scoping solutions with concrete ROI, and driving implementation to tackle system gaps and structural workflow improvements. Key Responsibilities Independently work to develop a comprehensive understanding and summary of current state cash application processes and systems. Review and Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) according to existing or new processes. Utilize process mapping techniques to document current-state and future-state processes and systems. Identify structural bottlenecks, system pain points, and operational inefficiencies. Scope out actionable solutions. Develop and present proposals to management, supported by ROI calculations and data. Actively assist in and drive the rollout and implementation of approved initiatives. Partake in testing for process or system changes (UAT), and identify and document testing gaps. Performs other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Process Improvement Specialist, or similar strategic role, with a proven track record of leading process improvements. Education: University degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Technical Skills: Advanced expertise with Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Google Slides, and process mapping tools (e.g., LucidChart, Visio). Expert ability to write comprehensive SOPs. Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical skills with a proven ability to independently identify root-cause issues and build compelling business cases. Highly self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive a project methodology forward without micromanagement, and confidently navigate ambiguity. Excellent communication skills to present complex ideas clearly to leadership. Bonus Points: Subject matter expertise in the realm of cash applications. Experience with ERP systems and working through large-scale system integrations. Working Conditions: Primarily in an office environment.
