As the Business Improvement Strategist, you will support the Portfolio Strategy and Planning team with developing and maintaining databases, analysis tools, benefits management processes, and critical records and templates. You will deliver solutions for business efficiencies, process improvements, strategic data analysis, business, and performance/metrics reporting. Primary duties
include:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives as part of the portfolio team, including leading a system and data sustainment strategy and working with a cross-functional team to implement the data sustainment strategy.
  • Develop, manage, and sustain portfolio reporting and tracking systems, analysis tools, and reporting documents.
  • Develop and implement the portfolio benefits realization, tracking, reporting and management system.
  • Lead all Facility Planning process mapping and improvement initiatives, including maintaining and aligning existing process maps.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to respond to business needs, solve problems, and develop options and alternatives.
  • Facilitate sessions and interface with management, operational staff, and organizational partners on strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate the development of business strategies and support implementation of strategic initiatives, particularly opportunities for cost efficiencies and business improvement.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Planning, Public Administration, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in strategic planning, process and business improvement, and/or financial analysis.
  • Applicants must have experience with project management, business analysis, and working knowledge of various analysis methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Project) and Expert proficiency with Excel is required.
  • Intermediate proficiency with GIS systems is required.
  • Previous experience with database development, data integration, data marts, Power BI, metadata environments and data analysis techniques (including Monte Carlo simulations and multiple regression) would be an asset.
  • Previous experience in managing real estate or facility portfolios and programs, as well as experience in capital programs (including stage gating) and benefits realization, would be an asset.
  • A diverse range of experiences in large organizations and businesses would be an asset.
  • Experience in business analytics, performance metrics, process improvement, and writing content and reports for senior leadership would be an asset.

  • Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
  • Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
