Web Content Development Assistant – Canada Summer Jobs

Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) – Immigrant Services is seeking a web content development assistant to fill a position within the Lethbridge Local Immigration Partnership (LLIP). The position assists the LLIP Coordinator with redevelopment of the partnership’s website to engage effectively with the local community.

Web content development assistants:

  • work within the Squarespace website platform,

  • create new webpages using provided templates,

  • add pre-approved text, hyperlink and photos, and

  • adhere to LLIP brand standards and communications strategy.

The successful candidate may also be asked to:

  • create posts on the LLIP Facebook page, and

  • create visual assets using the Canva design.

Eligibility:

To meet Canada Summer Jobs criteria, the candidate must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment,

  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment,

  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • working knowledge of Squarespace or similar website platform, and

  • ability to write engaging and error-free content for web and social media.

Desirable skills:

  • knowledge of basic design and layout principles,

  • experience using Canva, and

  • familiarity with search engine optimization.

All new employees must provide a police information check and vulnerable sector check dated not less than 90 days prior to the date of hire.

Hours: Temporary (8 weeks) – 35 hours per week
