About the role

Adecco Canada is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a hands-on Senior IT Systems Administrator (Site Lead) to join their growing team in Toronto, Ontario.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys combining systems administration, automation, cybersecurity, networking, and onsite technical leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining secure, reliable IT infrastructure while supporting end users and driving automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities As the Senior IT Systems Administrator (Site Lead), you will: • Lead onsite IT operations, serving as the primary technical contact for the Toronto office. • Design, implement, and maintain automated employee onboarding and offboarding processes across identity and collaboration platforms, including Okta, Google Workspace, and Slack. • Support and maintain conference room technology, audiovisual systems, office hardware, and workplace technology to ensure reliable day-to-day operations. • Collaborate with Workplace, HR, Information Security, and other internal teams on office expansions, workstation deployments, technology upgrades, and infrastructure projects. • Administer and secure enterprise network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and VLAN environments. • Manage endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune or comparable Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms. • Develop automation solutions using Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, or similar technologies to streamline IT operations and reduce manual processes. • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, networking, and systems issues for Windows and macOS environments. • Maintain accurate technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system runbooks. • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support through the organization's IT service management platform while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. • Partner with Information Security teams to support compliance initiatives, endpoint protection, and security monitoring.

Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: • Minimum 5 years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Administration, or a similar IT role. • Hands-on experience supporting macOS and Windows operating systems. Note this is primarily MAC focused so expertise in this area is required. • Previous experience leading or supporting onsite IT operations is considered an asset. • Strong knowledge of: • TCP/IP • DNS • DHCP • VLANs • VPN technologies • Enterprise firewalls • Experience administering Okta, Google Workspace, or similar identity and productivity platforms. • Experience with Microsoft Intune or comparable endpoint management solutions. • Knowledge of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions such as CrowdStrike or similar technologies. • Experience developing automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages. • Experience working with REST APIs and workflow automation. • Experience supporting Zoom Rooms, audiovisual equipment, and workplace technology. • Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Candidates with experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply: • AI-assisted automation or the use of AI tools to improve IT operations and documentation. • Network automation or Infrastructure as Code (IaC). • Supporting distributed or multi-office environments. • Cloud-based enterprise infrastructure and SaaS administration.

Work Environment • Full-time opportunity for 6 months with potential to extend or more! • Onsite location downtown Toronto, Ontario – GO/TTC accessible • Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
