The Electrical Inspector is the administrative head of the division. He looks after the administration and general technical control of the in-charge officers of the department within his division.

Responsibilities
Installation Inspection & NOC (CEA 2010): i) Periodical inspection of installations (11 KV to 33 KV). ii) Approval/NOC for temporary public installations. iii) Charging permission under Reg 43: a) Plan approval via Mahaonline portal. b) Approval on resubmission after compliance. c) Site inspection after work completion & test reports. d) Granting permission if found satisfactory. Generating Units (200 KW to 2 MW): i) Plan approval via Mahaonline portal. ii) Approval after compliance. iii) Site inspection after work completion. iv) Granting permission under Regulation 32. Multi-Storeyed Buildings (>15 Meters): i) Plan approval on Mahaonline portal. ii) Approval on resubmission. iii) Inspection after work completion. iv) Permission under Regulation 36. Public Entertainment: NOC for Cinema (Permanent/Temp), Video Talkies, and Circus/Public places. Appeal Cases: i) Deciding appeals against Section 126 as per Section 127 (Single Phase). ii) Disputes regarding overhead lines (Regulation 63). 6-9. Statutory Functions
- Investigation of Accidents (Section 161).
- Issuance of Supervisor/Contractor licenses.
- Examination process for Wireman/Supervisor.
- Functions under Electricity Duty Act 2016.
