This posting will be used to fill 2 term positions working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.
This job is based in Whitehorse with travel to Yukon communities.
Our team
The Information Services unit of Health and Social Services is responsible for the IT operations of the department. We support uses across the territory to allow them to deliver services and support to Yukoners. This is an excellent place to build up current skills and learn a few new ones. You will have the opportunity to work with a large variety of software. If you are looking for work that provides a diverse range of technical support to a variety of health and social services programs all over Yukon and is committed to continuous learning, then this is the place for you!
Your role
The Systems Specialist provides expert technical support and guidance in the analysis, implementation, adaptation, maintenance and operation of a variety of systems to ensure they effectively support service delivery. The Systems Specialist reviews and analyzes existing business processes and procedures and related information in order to make recommendations to improve, implement and/or adapt these ensuring adherence with government standards, processes, policy and legislative requirements.

Essential qualifications

- Post-secondary course work, diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology. System administration/management or related field;
- Experience providing client-focused technical support in a service desk environment;
- Experience administering and managing systems maintenance and enhancements; and
- Experience in a Microsoft environment.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications above may be equally considered.
