This course is an exploration of local and global hip hop cultures, politics and identities. The instructor will be expected to teach in both critical analysis and facilitate workshops in hip hop cultural production.

Position Requirements

The successful candidate must possess a MA, MFA, or PhD, or equivalent degree;

Evidence of experience being able to facilitate hands on workshops around hip hop production (i.e. beatmaking, DJing)

Evidence of awareness of key issues and critical theory relevant to hip hop cultures;

Experience teaching at a University level is required;

Experience managing classroom technologies for teaching;

Must provide a sample syllabus relevant to the course description.

Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Other Work Hours

CTCH 205 is scheduled on Wednesdays from 1430-1715 – on campus.
