Position Summary:

Type: Temporary - 3mos Position: Equipment Trainer Location: CNUL Albian Schedule: 4 on/3 off; 10 hours per day, Fly in/Fly out

Compensation Details:

Role Summary:

The Equipment Trainer holds a pivotal role in maintaining adherence to established standards by providing guidance and addressing issues among trainees at various on-site locations. Responsibilities encompass the comprehensive delivery of training, involving Computer-Based Training (CBT), classroom sessions, and conducting evaluations to ensure timely assessment of trainees following Bouchier training guidelines. A crucial aspect of the role involves actively coaching and guiding employees to enhance their performance. Regular inspections of work are essential for promptly identifying and rectifying any inconsistencies or deviations from quality standards. Furthermore, the Equipment Trainer is tasked with making recommendations and providing support based on field observations to contribute to continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct training for reporting personnel. Demonstrate and explain use of equipment as required. Evaluate operators on equipment use as required. Conduct performance evaluations for employees. Analyze organizational operating and safety practices and procedures. Trains, utilizes, and supports coaches in delivering Bouchier training programs to company standards. Maintain physical asset security and condition. Follows up with operators promptly on equipment abuses. Coordinates, delivers, and records all site training. Instructs personnel on safe task completion in accordance with safety procedures and protocols. Coordinates training efforts with site supervision, emphasizing 80% field presence and 20% office work. Delivers the training program to applicable personnel on the assigned site. Responsible for personal health and safety, as well as that of others, following and promoting all Bouchier site safety processes, and policies. Attends daily toolbox meetings on site. Utilizes the LMS for theory delivery, record-keeping, and training reports.

Education & Experience:

Valid Class 1 license is preferred Heavy Equipment Training Certification is an asset. Education/Courses in Instructing Adults in Workplace an asset. Experience operating heavy equipment such as Highway Trucks with Low & High Boys, Water Trucks, Articulated Trucks, Dozers, Graders, Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Packers, etc. and deemed competent to operate under Bouchier. CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certificate is required WHMIS 2015 (Completed within the last 3 years) Experience working with Learning Management Systems is an asset. Problem solving capabilities necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team-oriented environment. Detail oriented and self-motivated. Good working knowledge of Microsoft software, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to deal with a variety of people comfortably and pleasantly. Exceptional organization and planning capabilities. Solid understanding of safety and training legislation; competency, observation, and evaluation skills. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English.
