Position Title: Apps Dev Tech Lead Analyst Location: Mississauga, ON Job Type: Hybrid – (3 days/week) Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and it is subject to change. TSR will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 6 months
Job Description The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior role responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with Technology. The objective of this role is to lead application systems analysis and programming activities, drive release and environment management, and support DevOps practices.
Responsibilities: Partner with management teams to integrate functions, define enhancements, and deploy new products and process improvements. Resolve high impact issues through evaluation of complex business and system processes and industry standards. Provide subject matter expertise and ensure application designs align with architectural blueprints. Set standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation using strong knowledge of system flow. Develop comprehensive understanding of how architecture and infrastructure enable business goals. Provide analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop solutions. Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts, including work allocation. Assess risk and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, and manage control issues with transparency. Release Management: Plan, schedule, and manage the end-to-end release process for software applications. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and timely releases. Define, maintain, and enforce release processes, calendars, and checklists. Identify, mitigate, and resolve risks and issues across the release lifecycle. Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone check-ins, and Go/No-Go meetings. Manage pre-release and post-release communications to stakeholders. Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures. Environment Management: Oversee management and maintenance of all non-production environments. Ensure high availability and stability of test and development environments. Plan, schedule, and coordinate environment refreshes, data loads, and configuration updates. Troubleshoot and resolve complex environment-related problems. Manage access control and security for non-production environments. Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and schedules. Communicate planned downtimes, maintenance windows, and incident status. DevOps: Assist in managing and improving CI/CD pipelines. Support deployment automation tools and processes. Perform basic troubleshooting of build failures and deployment issues. Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications and services into the CI/CD framework. Monitor application and infrastructure health post-release.
Required Skills & Qualifications: 6–10 years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis. Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications. Track record of managing and implementing successful projects. Subject matter expertise in at least one applications development area. Ability to adjust priorities as circumstances dictate. Demonstrated leadership and project management skills. Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
Preferred Skills: Experience with release and environment management in enterprise settings. Hands-on exposure to CI/CD tooling and automation practices.
