About the role

Bentley School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Educational Assistant to join our team in a temporary position for the remainder of the school year. This role is part of a focused support program designed to provide targeted interventions for identified students within our Kindergarten to Grade 5 learning community.

The successful candidate will work closely with a lead teacher, school administration, and external support professionals to implement individualized and small-group programming that addresses specific academic and behavioural needs. Supports will be delivered both within the classroom setting and in small-group or one-to-one environments outside the classroom.

Assignment:

  • Full-time 1.0 temporary Educational Assistant position

  • Duties to commence as soon as possible and will continue until May 15, 2026 with the possibility of extension

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to identified students

  • Support the implementation of individualized programming developed by the lead teacher and support team

  • Assist with academic, behavioural, and social-emotional interventions

  • Work collaboratively with school staff and external supports to ensure consistent programming

  • Participate in collaborative problem-solving and team planning

  • Monitor student progress and maintain organized documentation

  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment

Qualifications and/or Assets:

  • Experience working with students with complex needs
  • Background and/or experience supporting academic and behavioural needs
  • Skill in providing one-to-one and small-group instruction
  • Ability to support students within inclusive classroom environments
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional demeanor
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented learning environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability in implementing programming specific to individual student needs
  • Commitment to student success and inclusive education
  • Experience and/or training as an Educational Assistant or in Early Childhood Development
