About the job As a Senior Financial Analyst, you apply your experience and expertise in accounting, financial management, and internal control to:
• Critically assess, research, develop, draft/write, and retire enterprise controllership policy. • Submit high quality draft policy for management review and approval. • Publish approved policy and lead stakeholder communications. • Plan and manage policy engagements using our agile five-step methodology. • Deliver results on time and on scope. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our back-office processes. • Additionally, you may be called upon to provide policy advice, support the implementation of accounting standards, and contribute to the achievement of divisional priorities.
What you bring to the team Accounting and Financial Management You have demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise with: • Public Sector Accounting Standards (typically supported/demonstrated by a professional accounting designation). • Controllership policy development and/or application of controllership policy in public, non-profit, and/or private sectors. • Assessing financial management concepts and operational practices to produce practical policy requirements. • Internal control/assurance concepts and their application into policy (e.g., COSO, and SysTrust / Systems Reliability Audit)
Project Management You have demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise with: • Planning project outcomes using an established agile methodology. • Working independently and as a member/leader of a team to engage stakeholders, research and draft policy. • Delivering quality on-time, on-scope results.
Relationship Management You have demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise with: • Communicating and writing clearly, effectively and efficiently. • Building strong working relationships that inform open constructive discussions. • Professional acuity and judgement, working effectively in both structured and ambiguous fluid environments.
Professional Effectiveness You have demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise with: • Applying a proactive, positive mindset focused on solutions. • Navigating complex and diverse environments with sound judgment, adaptability and accountability. • Contributing to team success and organizational goals through collaboration and continuous improvement.
